Stuart Chard

Travel and Street Photographer

BIO
Stuart Chard — Travel & Street Photographer
It started with my dad's old Bakelite Kodak — a camera that didn't even have film in it. By my teens I'd graduated to a Russian-made Zorki 4K, and somewhere between those two cameras the obsession took hold.
I shoot street and travel photography — the quiet moments that don't announce themselves. A glance across a market. Light doing something unexpected. Two strangers sharing the same pavement without knowing it. The stuff that's gone before most people think to raise a camera.
Based in the UK, I travel regularly — Turkey is a second home — and shoot predominantly in monochrome, with the occasional concession to colour when the scene demands it. My tool of choice is a Fujifilm X-T5, though I still shoot film and develop it myself, because some things are worth the wait.
My work spans street photography, travel, and landscape — collected at travelandpixels.co.uk, where I also write about the places I shoot. Prints are available through my Etsy shop. Explore my work, read the blog or browse the prints using the link below.
